N.C. Turnpike Authority looks at possible toll sites,

The N.C. Turnpike Authority board
on Wednesday approved the Garden Parkway as one of four possible toll roads
for further study.
Tax increment financing
"perhaps could" fit in, Spencer said of the Garden Parkway project. He said
that if the highway is built, a portion of the incremental taxes surrounding
the property could help pay for building the road.
Our Comments: This can certainly be viewed is
double-dipping on the local taxpayers by uisng their property tax base to
pay for a State road, but also charging them to use the road.
